Watermelon Beauty Recipe

You don’t have to eat watermelon to receive the healthy benefits.  It goes without say that we all want to retain our youthful looks unfortunately Mother Nature has other thoughts on this process.  You can fight this process down to last piece of watermelon you have in your refrigerator.

Your personal anti-aging arsenal - L-arginine  ( product of citrulline/watermelon) is an HGH enhancer. It stimulates your body to release the anti-aging human growth hormone known as HGH. Human growth hormone has been shown to slow and often reverse your aging process. There is another benefit of L-arginine being an HGH enhancer. Your bone density will also increase

Watermelon not only hydrates your body but also your skin.  Watermelon improves skin elasticity and firmness and keeps it glowing and healthy without all the chemicals.   Watermelon has astringent properties, sugar and vitamins A and B. The high water content makes it a great skin refresher.   No need to pay the inflated prices of these fancy anti-aging toners and cleansers.  Make your own cleanser and toner;– you will know what you are putting on your face plus you will be able to pronounce what the contents are.

 Is your skin dry irritated from all the environmental pollution and sun. Gently cool and cleanse your face with this natural mixture.

Cleanser:

4 tablespoons fresh cucumber juice
½ cup fresh watermelon juice
½ cup spring water
2 tablespoons glycerin
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel

Puree a fresh cucumber in a food processor and squeeze the puree until you have four tablespoons of cucumber juice. To obtain watermelon juice, slice a fresh watermelon and press a spoon into the watermelon "meat" to produce juice. Combine the cucumber and watermelon juices, water, glycerin and aloe vera gel. Store in a clean container and keep in the refrigerator. Apply with a cotton pad.

Toner:
For dry skin:  6tbsp watermelon juice and 1tbsp of honey.  Apply on your face and neck and rinse off after 10-15minutes with luke warm water.

Oily Skin;

2 Tablespoons fresh watermelon juice
1 Tablespoon vodka
2 Tablespoons witch hazel
2 Tablespoons distilled water

Strain the watermelon juice to get rid of seeds and fruit pieces.  Combine all ingredients in small bowl and stir well. Pour into clean containers with tight-fitting lids. To use: pour a small amount on a clean cotton pad and apply to face. Store in fridge between uses to retain freshness.  Will keep approximately one week.

For medium to dry skin:

  • 1 cup watermelon chunks
  • 2 tbsp witch hazel
  • 2 tbsp distilled water


Now what you need to do is puree the watermelon chunks in a processor or blender. Strain the liquid and throw away the solids. Pour the strained liquid on the remaining ingredients and mix well. Preserve it in a glass bottle. Watermelon has astringent properties, sugar and vitamins A and B. The high water content makes it a great skin refresher.

Note: Remember toning cannot replace facial cleansing.

If you have been working out, running or biking, your hot and your face is flushed – take a piece of cold watermelon and gently rub it over your face, (forehead, nose and checks and throat) for about five minutes, rinse with cool water.  You will be amazed how great your face will feel.
