Watermelon Lemonade with a scoop of Citruaid

A twist on lemonade: Rozanne Gold stirs in pureed watermelon. "You can adjust the level of sweetness by experimenting with the amount of honey and lemon," she says. "And during cocktail hour, you might add a fourth ingredient—vodka."

 

Ingredients

         

  • 1 1/2 pound(s) sliced seedless watermelon, rind removed
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 3/4 cup(s) fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup(s) mild honey (such as orange blossom)
  • 1  lemon, thinly sliced, for garnish
  • 1-2 scoops of Citruaid (www.extremev.com)


Directions

  1. In the bowl of a food processor, place watermelon and process until very smooth. Strain through a coarse sieve set over a bowl, stirring to push through any pulp. Pour juice into a large pitcher. Add lemon zest.
  2. In a bowl, whisk lemon juice and honey until honey dissolves; stir into watermelon juice. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cold water; put 1-2 scoops of Citruaid; cover and refrigerate until very cold. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices.

Watermelon Pedicure (For beautiful feet)

You know what day today is.  You've been looking forward to it all week.  Nothing is going to stand in your way tonight.

During the season, a pedicure polish watermelon is good for the feet and gives your home a pleasant scent of summer.

 


 

Ingredients

  • Mix 1/2 cup strained puree watermelon
  • 1 TB spoonful of finely ground almonds
  • 1/4 cup yogurt




 

Directions

 

  1. Combine ingredients. 
  2.  Apply mixture with your hands in a circular motion to work. 
  3. Use tissue to remove.
  4. Wash off with tepid water and dry.

Watermelon Cleanser for Blackheads

You know what day today is.  You've been looking forward to it all week.  Nothing is going to stand in your way tonight. 


Watermelons could just be nature's perfect skin care product. It is high in beta-carotene, water, antioxidants as well as a vitamins A, B6, and C, potassium, iron, calcium, and fiber. The seeds contain selenium, essential omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids, zinc, and vitamin C all of which help fight free radical damage and aging. Watermelon is loaded with citrulline, an amino acid credited with helping skin's healing and regenerative processes. It also contains lycopene, which packs twice the punch of the better known beta-carotene which protects skin from sun damage. Watermelons are high in glutathione, which helps cleanse food of the hazards of oxidized fat. 

 


 

Ingredients

  • 2 t watermelon juice
  • 2 t grated cucumber
  • 2 t tomato juice
  • 2 t fine rice powder




 

Directions

 

  1. Combine ingredients. Use to clean your face. Wash off with tepid or cool water.
  2. To use: Pour a small amount on a clean cotton pad and apply it to your face. 

 

Only make as much as you need for one treatment, unless otherwise instructed. These recipes do not contain chemicals to prevent the natural ingredients from souring.
